  1. Go to your Blackboard.
  2. Go to Fall 2026 Finite Mathematics MATH-1100-R02.
  3. Click on Pearson. You will have to register; get the cheapest package (approximately $106.00).
  4. Press the black Launch button.
  5. In the left box, under Student Links, select MyLab and Mastering Course Home.
  6. In the left panel, open >eTextbook Contents.
  7. On the right, press the hot pink Open my eTextbook button.
  8. At the bottom, go to page 127 for Section 3.1 (Simple Interest).

See the Online Homework

  1. Go to your Blackboard.
  2. Go to Fall 2026 Finite Mathematics MATH-1100-R02.
  3. Click on Online HW 1: Simple Interest.
  4. Press the black Launch button.
  5. Press the purple Open Pearson button.
  6. Click on Question 1.
  7. You should see the question
    “Find the interest on the following loan.
    $1050 at a 5.5% annual rate for 9 months”.
    Under the question, you should see a little rectangle where the answer goes:
    The interest is $   
  8. Click in the rectangle and type your answer (43.31). All you have to type is the answer, a single number with two digits to the right of the decimal point. You do not have to show your work at this stage. That means you can ignore the row of mysterious buttons that appears at the bottom of the window when you click in the rectangle.

For the Instructor’s Use Only: set the date and time

  1. Click on Pearson.
  2. Prese the black Launch button.
  3. At bottom, press the Allow and Continue button to allow cookies.
  4. Press the orange Open MyLab & Mastering button.
  5. In the left panel, click on Course Home.
  6. Scroll down to the Assignments panel. Click on the due date and time for Online HW 1.
